the 'quiet' term

So this is meant to be the quiet term. last term was very full of appointments, hence the short post last time; too much to say! Following on from last term;

 Ethan has done really well with his hearing aid, it is very apparant when he is not wearing it now, it is so small its barely noticable. It turned out he was having a lot of trouble distinguishing words like slope/smoke

I was signed off from physio, although it still does not have full mobility, she felt it was as much input as she could give and hopefully it may make some more progress if I continue the exercises at home

 Josh did his breath test before breaking up for Easter and as ever the results were sky high, however there is some confusion as to whether the probiotics he takes to replace the bacteria in his gut with good flora effect the reading! There was some improvement during April with his diarrhea however this month looks set to be worse than ever.

Lastly my cardio symptoms seems to have settled quite a bit without any Dr input. the long awaited follow up to all the tests was disappointing as it was not the lovely registrar i saw initially but the consultant who seemed to be the sort who is very disinterested when there is no surgery involved! indeed he said i needed to see the 'electrician' and that he was just the 'plumber', as yet i've heard nothing of this referal, so its a good job things are more manageable!

Anyhow as I said after a busy term and a nice Easter break this was meant to be a calmer term. But it was not to be, the Thursday after Easter Aaron started passing blood in his stools. We had been concerned for a while that he was producing very loose nappies, but as we were so busy and probably due to it not being a patch on Josh at his worst investigating it kept being put off, hoping it was just toddler diarrhea.

We spent a good few hours in a+e hilst they satisfied themselves he was ok to go home, and then went back for a good chat in the morning. They still could not find an obvious cause of it but hoped he might have had a viral bug??? we hoped that was the end of it but he repeated this the next tuesday, and then every nappy thereafter, most days, sometimes more. The GP fast tracked him back to the paeds who referrred him to the paediatric suregons and for an ultrasound. The thoughts being it coulds be a Meckles diverticulum, or juvenille polyps. The wait on these is attrocious, the ultrasound is only come through for this monday coming and surgical review not til June! We investigated going privately and from the same Dr we were advised to see paed gastro (like Josh) instead. We saw paeds again in clinic and this gastro referal is now being done, hopefully we can push this through a little faster, the gastro consultant knows Josh well and is a great Dr, and we are seeing her for Josh anyway on Thursday coming! However the GP called me at home on Friday morning, concerned as the test he had sent off finally came back and had a reading of 10x normal for calprotectin indicating they thought an inflammatory bowel disease. Will update when i have news.....

P.S just thought i'd mention Aaron fell into the radiator and had steri strips and glue to close the hole on his forehead up, at least they rarely do stitches these days. We have definately had enough of hospitals
