so this week brought with it a return to GOS for his 1st conscious injection of adalimumab, it hurt! :( over the week he had been increasingly poorly with very liquid diarrhea, blood and small accidents, losing enough fluid to need to be careful he stayed hydrated, and fleeting random fevers with no apparent cause. We were concerned he wouldn't be able to have his injection on wednesday(if deemed to have a virus or infection) but he was briefly better and after much deliberation by the drs he did. Their feeling about using feeds or steroids was that they would hold off and see how he responded, however they took blood, urine and stool tests, and called back on friday with a change of plan as they had now gone up even more to what they phrased as 'deranged' bloods, they would like him to start back on the special liquid feeds, and if still no improvement quickly then steroids when he goes back in for his next dose in 2 weeks.
So we are planning for the routine of feeding the rest of us without it being too arduous on Aaron who is upset and cross about it all. Also next week will be getting an ng tube fitted and sorting out supplies and school management etc.
