So we have completed the 6 weeks of neocate, his diarrhea is nearly gone and no blood, still occassional tummy aches. Stool test is still pending, but bloods show a decrease in inflammation. We are ok to start introducing foods, first is a slow start with rice, then rice cakes, rice pasta, rice bread etc. then some turkey and then maybe carrot then pear. all cooked plainly and soft to be easly digested and no skins. we reintroduce food every other day which may take a while, but if diarrhea restarts then stop and call the Dr. He till needs to take in a minimum of 200ml of the formula milk which is our main challenge as he really does not want to, maybe that'll improve when he is having less via the tube and so is hungrier and thirsty? She has prescribed yet another milk to try! He has an increased dose of one of his meds due to there still being occassional blood in his aspirate. He also stays on the sulfasalazine indefinately. She agreed that the neocate treatment seemed to have worked but did not sound hopeful that it would 'hold'.

We have 1 more appointment with her before she leaves just about squeezed in then moving over to her colleague, she is also chasing the Great Ormond Street referal. He will have his bloods retested then to see the effect of reintroducing solids.
Ethan and Josh are both excited that he is starting to eat, particularly apparantly that they won't have to wait for meals or hide! This will be a slow process though as it will be a while before he is eating what they are.
