biopsies

all biopsies were normal which of course is good news, but means still no clues! his blood showed raised magnesium levels, not sure what that means, and raised neutrophils and white blood count - normally when you are ill but he was quite well, maybe infection? the aspirate they tokk (bowel fluid contained bacetria that she was not  expecting so the plan his to discuss with his GOS consultant as she was a bit concerned about this and pondered whether to start straight away on a course of antibiotics, but i think what held her back was his new symptom (last couple months) of blurry vision. she would like to investigate this first - medication, dehydration??? we are awaiting an opthalmalgic referal.
next step still seems to be MRI but this looks more likely to be in the new year. so either a small bowel MRI (with contrast) or a transit study (with little balls you swallow) but the 2nd may not show the variations daily we see with his transit or the eratic nature of different parts of his bowel. she suspects he has some redundant bowel loops/areas that are a bit baggy
