soooo nice not to have to travel for an appointment! Gastro at St Helier called back and we discussed how her treatment was going, after i told her about the copious amounts of diarrhea (more than ever!) and a few horror stories of where she agreed that this antibiotic was not working and so would like to put him back on the cipro he had for the salmonella earlier in the year. this is much stronger and has the same side effects to watch out for and difficulties in spacing away from his calcium products and ranitidine. She faxed us through the prescription to the GP and changed the appointment we have coming up so he can complete 2 courses of this before the follow up breath test and clinic. She also mentioned that the xray she did showed a 'chronically enlarged stomach and altered bowel pattern' and so she would like to re-image him after the SIBO treatment to see if this is resolved perhaps starting with ultrasound.
