poor Josh, one thing after another. he woke up this morning with his eye swollen shut (it did look a bit smaller yesterday than the other one). we went to epsom who dyed his eye to check the cornea and have given eye drops to treat for blepharitis. they don't think it would be related to the fall off his trike although it is the same eye (which was our initial worry) if it doesn't settle they will try oral antibiotics too.
having had Charlotte (paed opthalmologist) over for her expert opinion we returned to epsom as she said it was periorbital cellulitis and needed oral antibiotics promptly incase of complications. they agreed (!) and have started him on 2 sorts of antibiotics and the swelling has started to go down. diarrhea is the next problem we'll encounter but the eye was more important.
