toda we got a clearer idea of what to expect on the 17th.
during the week leading up to the surgery we would go in for a pre-assessment visit so they can check his blood count, listen to his chest, examine his abdomen and take a history amoungst other things.
then we would go in either on the 16th or 17th and go through the process with them and sign consent forms
whilst under the general anaesthetic they would fist do a laproscopy through the belly button to assess how to proceed like point of attachment and blood vessel involvement especially major ones. they hope to remove it all but as i said in a previous post this will be decided as they operate.
post-op there will be dissolving stitches, antibiotics, blood if needed. tubes to drain his stomach, administer medicene, and empty his bladder.
after a few days they will decide when its safe for him to start eating and drinking again and expect him to go home in about 5-7 days, depending on how they proceed, an how his recovery goes.
